Life Events & Changes
If you experience a qualifying life event (QLE), such as becoming a parent or your spouse losing coverage through their employer, you can enroll or make changes mid-year to your benefit elections. You have 31 days from the qualifying event date to make these changes through Workday, with supporting documentation. Otherwise, you can enroll or make changes during the annual open enrollment period for coverage effective January 1 of the next calendar year. Marriage or Divorce
If you get married or become legally separated, divorced or your marriage is annulled, you may elect or change your coverage within 31 days. Changes are made through Workday. Examples of accepted documentation include:
Copy of marriage license or marriage certificate
Copy of divorce decree
If you move or change your name, remember to update your contact/personal information via Workday.
Domestic Partnership
If you attain domestic partnership status, you can make adjustments to your benefits within 31 days. In order to add a domestic partner you will need to review the policy below, complete/submit the Affidavit of Domestic Partnership, and make the changes in Workday. Examples of acceptable documentation can be found in the policy.
Loss/Gain of Benefits
A spouse or domestic partner’s change in employment resulting in you or your spouse / domestic partner or dependents gaining or losing coverage under another plan is considered a qualified life event, meaning that you can make certain adjustments to your benefits. You will have 31 days from the qualifying life event date to make changes to elections through Workday. Examples of acceptable documentation include:
Copy of employer letter, or certificate of creditable coverage.
Proof of loss/gain of coverage from insurance company or employer
Birth*/Adoption
You may add or remove a baby* or child to your benefit plans. Examples of accepted documentation include:
Copy of birth certificate or hospital certificate
Proof of birth
Copy of adoption papers or placement papers
Copy of acquired/legal guardianship papers
*Newborns will not be automatically covered for health insurance following delivery, in accordance with details outlined in Pernod Ricard’s plan description. In order for coverage to be implemented, you must complete a benefit event change through Workday. Once the event is completed, coverage is retroactive to date of birth.
Loss of a Loved One
If your spouse/partner or dependent dies; you may elect or change coverage through Workday. Acceptable documentation includes:
Copy of death certificate
