Pregnancy Leave

Birthing parents will be eligible to receive a total of 16 or 18 weeks paid, dependent on the manner of delivery. Leave benefits will consist of Short-Term Disability (STD) and Paid Parental Leave (PPL).

  • STD benefits begin the date of delivery (6-8 weeks).

  • PPL can be taken continuously or be divided into 1-week increments within one year of birth or adoption (10 weeks).

  • Leave requests must be submitted to our claims administrator, The Hartford for approval.

Parental Leave

Non-birthing parents will be eligible to receive 10 weeks of paid time off to bond and care for a newborn or newly adopted child.

  • This 10-week period can be taken continuously or be divided into 1-week increments within one year of birth or adoption.

  • Leave requests must be submitted to our claims administrator, The Hartford for approval.

Own Health Condition

If you are (or will be) out of work for than 7 consecutive calendar days due to a certified medical condition, you will be eligible to file a request for Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Short Term Disability (STD) benefits.

  • FMLA provides up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected time off for your own serious health condition

  • STD benefits continue all or a portion of your income for up to a maximum of 26 weeks. Your continued income depends on your years of service.

  • Leave requests must be submitted to our claims administrator, The Hartford for approval.

Family Medical Leave Act

You are eligible for up to 12 weeks of job protected unpaid leave after one year and 1,250 hours of service only for:

  • The birth or adoption of a child

  • Your own serious health condition (or to care for an immediate family member with a serious health condition)

  • FMLA runs concurrently with other qualifying company and state provided leaves such as Short Term Disability, Caregiver Leave, State Disability, and Paid Parental Leave.

Caregiver Leave

You may be eligible for up to 6 weeks of paid Caregiver Leave in a 12-month period to care for your spouse, child, or parent who has a serious health condition (as defined by the FMLA).

  • Can be taken continuously or intermittently in 1 week increments

  • Must use all other available time off balances prior to approval

  • Leave requests must be submitted to our claims administrator, The Hartford for approval.

Other Leaves

Other leave of absences including but not limited to bereavement leave, jury duty, voting leave, and witness duty, may be available. Visit MyPortal for a listing of applicable leaves/time off.
